Focused on keeping patient waits down and staff satisfaction up, we were called in by the Integrated Health Projects to refurbish two Royal Lancaster Infirmary wards: Oncology and Urology. The former saw a £6,000,000 investment, allowing locals to be treated on their doorstep – not in Kendal. In addition, urology patients will now be treated in a dedicated unit, opening up theatre space for other departments, while speeding up cancer treatments. A win-win.
Our role involved three parts: Partitions, plastering, and suspended ceilings designed to sit around the original 1800’s beam and brick arch. It involved truly bespoke services, made with lively wards, worried patients, and busy staff in mind.
