In yet another NHS-commissioned project, after a series of seamless partnerships, we were brought into a large-scale build at Blackpool Teaching Hospital. Here, a 3-storey extension had been commissioned, with a new Same Day Emergency Care Department at Level 0, accommodation at Level 1, a Critical Care Unit at Level 2 and a plant room at Level 3.
Like all our NHS projects, we had to think about things differently, with the complexities of only being able to load materials from one side of the building, with just one access point. From there, we worked our magic, from fire protecting steelwork, SFS, partitions and plastering to easy-to-clean suspended ceilings, for hygiene’s sake.
